Why I’m Running in 2018

Why I’m Running in 2018

Recently, we’ve watched Establishment Republicans rip this party and country apart. They’ve been telling us whatever we wanted to hear in order to get our vote– empty promises. Remember when they said to give them a majority in the House and they’d be able to repeal Obamacare? Remember when they said to give them the Senate and they could repeal Obamacare? And most recently, they asked for a Republican President to get rid of Obamacare.

Establishment Republicans say whatever and do whatever they can to exclude people like us.  Our current representative, David Kustoff, is part of the Establishment. He is part of the problem. He’s spent his entire professional career working behind the scenes in politics. Members of Congress think once they are first elected, they have a secure, cushy job for life. It’s a big problem in Washington.

These politicians get a little too comfortable and a little too rich living off of us, the taxpayers. We need term limits for members of Congress. We have term limits for virtually every other elected office in this country– from the local level to the President of the United States. Our Senators and Representatives in Washington should not be making a career out of being a politician. We need term limits and I am all for them. I believe 12 years is plenty of time to make a positive impact in Washington. Two terms for the U.S. Senate or six terms for the U.S. House of Representatives is plenty of time to make change

Whether it is his failure to protect our values, or his efforts to work with liberal Nancy Pelosi to protect lawyers, David Kustoff has proven time and time again that he is working for his special interest friends in Washington, not for the people of West Tennessee.

I won’t be tempted by special interests– they can’t afford me. I’m a self-made man. I’ve built successful companies from scratch and created hundreds of jobs. I don’t need to meet with lobbyists or people working on behalf of special interests.

I can tell you this, I’ll be working for you and only you before, during and after you elect me to be your next Congressman.

You will see me talking and asking about small group meetings throughout this campaign. I’ll be working to meet with each of you so I can personally listen to your concerns about Congress. The Establishment may seem strong right now, but you and I have the power to reclaim control.

I’m going to give you a clear choice during this campaign of who you can vote for in the Republican Primary: someone who works for and votes on behalf of special interest groups or someone who has created jobs, won’t be tempted by special interest money, and will work to protect our West Tennessee values.

I’m Dr. George Flinn and I’m running for U.S. Congress, District 8 right here in West Tennessee. I hope that I can earn your support and your vote over the coming weeks and months during this campaign.
