H.R. : 3180: Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2018
Why this bill is important:
This bill authorizes funding for intelligence agencies which monitor domestic and foreign threats to the United States.
Why this bill is bad:
Congress is trying to hoodwink us all in this one. Most of what Congress is trying to appropriate in this bill is “classified” and we will never find out how our money is being spent. Members of Congress are essentially saying, here is a blank check. There is no accountability to see if the officials are spending the money the right way. Granted, we need to give our intelligence community all the tools they need to monitor and thwart threats, but there needs to be some amount of accountability.
