Congressman David Kustoff is NOT a pro-life candidate

In 2017, David Kustoff said he would be pro-life.

In 2018, he voted to fund Planned Parenthood.

Now, he’s trying to convince you he is a pro-life candidate.

Congressman David Kustoff promised the people of West Tennessee that he would “shake up and straighten up” Washington, but all he’s done is sell us out.

On March 22, 2018, David Kustoff voted to fund Planned Parenthood, breaking a major promise he made to voters.

Despite pleading from voters in West Tennessee, despite statements from Governor Mike Huckabee, despite statements from leaders like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul– Kustoff ignored the pleas and voted in favor of HR 1625.

HR 1625, also known as the 2018 Omnibus bill, contained line items that allow our taxpayer dollars to end up in the hands of Planned Parenthood.

Governor Huckabee went on Fox News to shame every Republican who voted for HR 1625.

“For those of us who have fought to put pro-life people in office, [Congress] betrayed us by continuing to give $500 million to an organization that slaughters unborn children… this is an outrage to every person who is pro-life in this country,” Huckabee said.

It’s interesting that Kustoff voted to pass the 2018 Omnibus bill, because he voted against the 2017 Omnibus bill (H.R. 244) on the grounds that it included funding for Planned Parenthood.

Kustoff released this statement on May 3, 2017:

“There are numerous provisions that I cannot support, such as funding for Planned Parenthood, medical marijuana programs and the bailout of Puerto Rico.”

So, Kustoff is trying to convince you that he was “against” funding Planned Parenthood before he was “for” it.

Kustoff is trying to convince you that he’s a pro-life candidate, when in reality he voted to fund Planned Parenthood, an organization that aborts nearly 330,000 babies each year.

Kustoff will try to tell you that he’s pro-life, but the facts are clear. Governor Huckabee made it clear and conservatives in West Tennesseans have made it clear: we do not want our representative supporting Planned Parenthood.
